During my trip to Bratislava last week, my slim and stylish Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 camera got weird. The LCD screen turned greenish. It broke my heart to see my camera damaged because it is the first expensive thing I have ever bought for myself. To add to this, I have invested quite a lot for my 10.1-megapixel, 2 year-old camera. I bought an extra battery pack as well as an LCD screen protector for it more than a year ago in Singapore.
Last Monday, I went to an authorized Sony Service Center in Poruba to see if I could still have it repaired. The old man in the center told me that it would cost me 3600 CZK or about 200 USD. What the heck! I might as well buy a new one! So today I went to the consumer electronic store DataArt at Futurum Mall. They have lots of brands for point-and-shoot cameras but I still prefer a Sony. I chose the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55. I got it for 4800 CZK or about 270 USD
The highlights of my Sony Cybershot DSC-H55 are as follows:
- 14.1-Megapixel
- 3.0" LCD
- 10x Optical Zoom
- Sweep Panorama Mode
- Optical SteadyShot™
- iAuto mode
- 720p MP4 HD Movie Mode
- Self Portrait Timer
