I Should Have Listened

China's trading relations with nearly every country in the world makes it the newest Superpower. A lot of people are now trying to learn the Chinese language and I feel bad that I didn't take it seriously before. I read an article in CNN, that even in South Africa, students are learning the Chinese language at an early age. And as the article stated, it could be the best investment parents (in South Africa) could make for their young kids.

I should have listened to my parents.

Chunky Platform Heels

I learned from the Style & Beauty section of US Magazine about freepeople.com. They sell the most gorgeous pairs of wedges, heels and platforms. Every shoewhore should take some time to visit this site!

My personal favorite is this Crosby Platform by Jeffrey Campbell, the same pair featured in US Magazine. I adore the chunky wooden heel and peep-toe design. When can I ever afford a pair like this?

Water For Elephants

Before watching the film, Water for Elephants, I was never a fan of Robert Pattinson. In fact, I hated the Twilight movie series. But in this new movie, he is brilliant! One very important lesson I learned from the film is that 'the world runs on tricks'.

Four Seasons

My days are counted in the Czech Republic. Pretty soon, I will be saying goodbye to my fairytale-ish life here in Europe and going back to reality.

I have made a lot of good friends in this 10-month journey, but one person whom I will greatly miss is Nicoleta. I have shared lots of good memories with this Greek tzoulia for the past few months. Back in Fall, we just started discovering each other's personalities. Come Winter, we were already good friends and we started sharing our sentiments. Then Spring came and we bonded further especially during our trip to Paris. Now that it's Summer, we are both looking forward to our next adventures. 

"Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, You've got a friend." This song speaks so much about our friendship.

Straw Weaved Wedge

To buy or not to buy?   That is the question. 

These days, Facebook is one of the fastest growing online shopping sites. I saw this ultra cute straw-weaved wedge sandal from an online seller's Facebook account and I couldn't take my eyes off it. I super love the peep-toe design with matching shoe laces. This pair comes in two colors, grey and pink, but I prefer this grey one. 

Cole Vintage Oxfords

Just this afternoon, I was surprised to receive an email from Cole Vintage, a brand that I have known since I was in college. The subject line in the email stated, "Our treat for you!"

Several days ago, I stumbled upon the Facebook page of Cole Vintage. They were looking for people to answer their survey. In return, they were giving away 20% discount coupons to the first 20 people. Lucky me, I was one of them.

What caught my eye was this Pescara Brown Oxfords, which has an interwoven design and is said to be made of high quality faux leather with matte gold eyelets and brown shoelaces. I can't wait to see my new shoes when I get back to the Philippines on July!

I'm Coming Home

This afternoon, I have just sent a 7-kg box to the post office. The entire week, I have been packing my stuff into the boxes that I got from Tesco, because some of my things can no longer fit into my luggage. Thus, sending them through the post office is the next best option before I leave next month.

Suddenly out of nowhere, the chorus line of J Cole's song, I'm Coming Home, played in my head."I’m coming home. I’m coming home. Tell the World I’m coming home."

Two Decades Plus Two

Two decades and two years. That's how long I have been breathing and living here on earth. I am happy to be turning a year older because this means that I am starting a whole new chapter once again. My 21st has been, by far, the BEST year ever. I hope this year would be an even greater year for me. Cheers to life!

Birthday Shopping

As an advance birthday present to myself, I went on a little shopping spree today. I discovered the shop, Gate, while I was in Prague last February. Luckily, I found the same shop here in Ostrava. I love how everything is so cheap in Gate that's why I was also able to buy some stuff for my family back home too.
