Chinese New Year at Resorts World Manila

My mom is in town so I took her to Resorts World Manila for the very first time. She really enjoyed the Chinese New Year festivities in the mall.

That night, we had dinner at a Chinese Restaurant together with my sister.

Nando's

My sister and I had a lot of errands to do today. Before we kicked off our busy day, we first had lunch at Nando's located at Tampines Mall. Upon entering the restaurant, my eyes were immediately drawn to the white brick wall, where Nando's promise to its valued customers was proudly written.

Each order of their 1/4 chicken meal came with two choices of sidelines. My sister ordered Mild Chicken with Peri Corn and Peri Chips while I got the Lemon & Herb Chicken with Mediterranean Rice and Peri Potato Salad.

Wild Honey

My sister and I met up for dinner tonight. She took me to a restaurant called Wild Honey located at Scott's Square in Orchard Road. The warm lighting and wooden flooring in the restaurant made the ambiance very cozy. Since I was still full from my hefty lunch at Nihon Mura, I merely ordered the Sweet Morning, a French toast stuffed with sweet peach and drizzled with maple syrup. As for my famished sister, she ordered the English Breakfast. It was such a good meal lah. Highly recommended!

Nihon Mura

I met up with my high school friends, Johnson and Roxanne, for lunch today. As suggested by Johnson, we had a mind-numbing lunch buffet at Nihon Mura. It was my first time to try eating in a Japanese restaurant with a rotating conveyor belt.

Apart from the sushis and makis on the conveyor belt, the ala carte dishes were also included in the buffet. We also tried their yummy Japanese ice cream. After our hefty meal, we gathered all our plates and realized, whoa we ate too much!

Xin Wang Hongkong Cafe

Before our flight to Dubai, my sister and I ate at Xin Wang Hongkong Cafe located at the Level 4 of Changi International Airport's Terminal 3. The Peach Lemon Iced Tea and Baked Cheese Rice were heavenly!

Conquering Mt. Pinatubo

My officemates and I began our journey to Mount Pinatubo at dawn. From San Juan, we traveled to Pampanga in an air-conditioned van for nearly three hours. We then boarded 4x4 jeeps across Crow Valley, a vast field of lahar in the said province.

We stopped for picture-taking in the middle of the lahar

After a thrilling one hour drive across ash fields in our 4x4 jeeps, we started our trek to the Crater Lake.

It was a long and tiring journey...

...that took us nearly three hours to finish.

But upon seeing this view, we were left speechless! It's absolutely stunning.

This was the walkway going down the Crater Lake.

We immediately jumped into the Crater Lake for a swim.

Tired but very happy. We finally conquered Mt. Pinatubo!

Zen Institute

I recently bought discounted online vouchers for treatments at Zen Institute. I went to their branch located at the second level of Le Spa inside Sofitel Philippine Plaza. The ambiance of this medical spa is very relaxing. It made me forget for awhile my hectic work schedule. Plus, their service is excellent. I definitely felt very pampered.

Lolo Dad's Cafe

My sister and I vowed to start our strict diet this 2012, so no more fancy restaurants for both of us. But before we officially start our diet, we promised that we would finish redeeming the vouchers we have bought last year. Our final food voucher is from Lolo Dad's Cafe. This fine dining restaurant is situated in a former ancestral home in Malate. From the outside, it really looks like an ordinary two-storey house, but upon entering the restaurant, we were welcomed by an air of elegance.

For starters, we were given a basket of soft, warm bread with butter. We then ordered a Double Espresso of Mushroom and Tomato Soup with Salted Fleuron Sticks. For meat, we decided to get the Herb De Provence Crusted Rack of Lamb with Three Cheese Risotto, Forty Melted Garlic and Tomato Confit. For seafood, we preferred the Pan-fried Fillet of Seabass with Blue Crab Potatoes and Smoked Salmon Filled Mushrooms in Oyster Cream Sauce. We were also served with Lolo Dad's signature smoke belcher's sherbet. My God, it was such an excellent meal. Everybody has to try Lolo Dad's Cafe

Lolo Dad's Cafe is located at 899 Pres. Qurino Ave. cor. Leon Guinto St., Malate Manila.

Dahilayan Adventure Park

Last December 31, my entire family went to Dahilayan Adventure Park known for having Asia's longest zip line that covers a distance of 840 meters. I have heard about this scream inducing adventure park for more than a year, but we never had the time to check it out because it is quite far from CDO (two hours away by land).

Pinegrove Lodge.

Dual zip line: 320 meters + 150 meters.

Playground.

Kung Fu Pandas :p

Asia's longest zip line has a length of 840 meters and a drop of 100 meters. We zoomed through the rainforest superman-style at 60 to 80 kilometers per hour.

Lunch at Pinegrove Lodge.

Forest Park.

Beautiful Bukidnon.

Bye Dahilayan!
