On our second day, my sister and I joined a Desert Safari tour across the outskirts of Dubai.
We were in a 4WD together with our driver, Farjad and three other tourists from Saudi Arabia and Germany.
The real adventure began when our guide maneuvered the 4WDs on the rolling dunes. It was such an exciting ride!
We had several stops in the middle of the desert. Whenever we smiled for the camera, some sand particles would enter our mouth because of the strong winds.
I saw several camels as we continued our dune bashing adventure across the desert. This is exactly how I pictured the old Middle East.
After dune bashing, we were led to a desert camp where several activities have been lined up for us. My sister and I tried riding a camel with the help of a local guide.
We also took the opportunity to try sand boarding in the said desert camp.
My sister and I were able to witness the sun setting before our very eyes transforming the desert dunes into a sea of gold.
We met a bunch of tourists from Saudi Arabia who got the attention of the crowd because of their funny antics and dances moves.
Before dinner, we were treated to a Tanoura Dance Presentation. A man was wearing a long and colorful skirt while dancing and twirling endlessly.
That night, we had an exotic dinner buffet in the desert camp.
After dinner, we were all seated Indian-style on the mats laid on the sand as we watched a Belly Dancing Presentation.
Before we left the camp, we tried the sheesha with other tourists.
Around 8:00pm, we headed back to the city after a fun-filled day in the desert!
