On our third day, we went on a roadtrip to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. We passed by lots of modern skyscrapers along the way.
Our first stop was the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in the UAE and the eighth largest in the world.
I love these dramatic white columns accented with gold.
My eyes were drawn to the meticulously hand-painted walls.
The grand chandelier in the main prayer hall is made of millions of Swarovski crystals. I was totally in awe!
As the country’s grand mosque, it is the key place of worship for Friday gathering and Eid prayers.
All tourists were asked to cover up from head to toe as a sign of respect to the Islam Religion.
We dropped by the Emirates Palace Hotel overlooking the Corniche.
We then headed to the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village, which recreated the old Middle Eastern communities.

We had a lunch buffet at the Al Asalah Restaurant in the Heritage Village.
After lunch, we explored the other areas in the village and likewise bought souvenirs from some bedouin tents.
Afterwards, we spent an hour in Marina Mall to do some shopping.
Mid-afternoon, we dropped by the famous Ferrari World, the world's largest indoor theme park.
We lingered in the shopping mall connected to the theme park.
This is the Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster.
