Dinner For Two

My friend, Nicoleta, came over and had dinner at my place tonight. I prepared penne pasta with bolognese sauce and roasted chicken. I'm sure nobody would believe me if I say that I made this on my own. Actually, I just bought the ready-made bolognese sauce and ready-to-eat roasted chicken from Tesco, my ultimate life saver!

Samsung Galaxy Tab

Just awhile ago, I read from my favorite blogger, Chuvaness about the Samsung Galaxy Tab, a contender of the more famous iPad. I have been lusting for the iPad since last year but upon reading her reviews about both products, I had a change of heart. This new tablet is half the size of the bulkier iPad making it easier to bring around. Chuvaness also made mention that unlike the iPad, the Samsung tablet has a camera too.

Pisa: Piazza Del Duomo

Last December 27, I took a day trip to Pisa from Florence using my Eurail Pass. I took the local train and I got there in an hour. It has always been my dream to see the Leaning Tower in person ever since I first read about it from my history book back in primary school. From the train station, I simply asked for a map from the Tourist Office and walked my way to Piazza del Duomo.

It took me about 25 to 30 minutes to get there, but I didn't notice the time pass by because I was too busy admiring the Tuscan architecture and beautiful skies.

This is the St. John Baptistery, a Romanesque style building built by an architect known as Diotisalvi "God Save You".

This is the Duomo, the medieval cathedral entitled to Santa Maria Assunta.

And finally, the Campanile or Bell Tower, famously known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The tower did not lean as much as I had imagined. But still, it was stunning.

Pisa, at the heart of Tuscany, is definitely a must-see!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

1. I got this square-toed classic grey pumps from a tiny shop in Paris' Montmartre District for only 10 euros.

2. Before coming to Europe, I've never heard of the brand Segue. I got this from pair of flats from Barberino Designer Outlet in the suburbs of Florence for less than 10 euros.

3. My dad loves t-shirts so I got him a shirt from Italy. But the vendor offered me to get three t-shirts for 10 euros so I decided to get t-shirts for my two brothers as well.

4. I got this dorky eyeglasses from a flea market in Florence for only 5 euros. Meanwhile, I was forced to buy this Ray-Ban-ish sunglasses from another flea market near the Vatican since I kept on squinting that particular sunny day.

5. I got this Bobino Cord Wrap and Drinn Charger Holder from a shop in the train station in Milan. So innovative!

6. During my two-week multi-city trip, visiting H&M was always part of my itinerary. These cute berets are both from my favorite Swedish boutique.

7. These shirts are also from H&M. I got the leopard print shirt from H&M Geneva. Notice the price tag? It's only for 5 francs or 4 euros. Meanwhile, the floral print shirt is from H&M Rome.

8. I got this uber cute green skirt from the sale rack in H&M Geneva. It was about 15 euros. Meanwhile, this A-line brown skirt is from Zara in Milan. I was so bored waiting for my train so I decided to shop a little. I have to admit, this wasn't on sale so this was quite pricey.

9. While strolling in Florence, I went inside Calzedonia. They were offering four leggings for 20 euros. Normally, I would consider 5-euro leggings as expensive, but the quality was so good, that's why I couldn't say no.

10. I got this dark brown rain/snow boots from Florence for 30 euros. I need this badly because I keep on slipping on the sidewalks on my way to work. Meanwhile, this other brown boots is from ZaraThey were on sale so I just had to get it.

Back in Snow Town

I am back in snowy Czech Republic after my unforgettable Christmas and New Year vacation in Italy, Switzerland and France. The food was delectable. The weather was cooperative. The sights were breathtaking. The memories were priceless. Traveling never fails to give me that sense of fulfillment. I have never been happier despite my soar muscles all over my body.

One proof that I came home contented and very pleased is my luggage. I left Ostrava with just one luggage, but I came back with two. Haha! Go figure why! As much as I hate the cold weather, I have to admit that I missed the snow a lot.

Monthly Photoblog

Europe is a beautiful continent. I have been to various countries and cities in Asia and North America, but nothing can definitely compare to the grandeur of Europe! I have taken thousands of pictures since my arrival here four months ago and I don't want for it to go to waste. Hence, from this year and month onwards, I will be posting monthly photoblogs of some of my best shots. I am no expert when it comes to photography, but I like to believe some of my shots look professional. Haha! I love my own!
